# Catalogs

Catalogs are a key component of LootLocker’s Economy system, allowing you to assign prices to items for sale within your game through [Virtual Purchases](/commerce/virtual-purchases.md) or [Real Money Purchases](/commerce/real-money-purchases.md). Catalogs support the sale of items that can also be distributed through Progressions, Triggers and Leaderboard rewards, including Assets, Progression Points, Progression Resets, and Virtual Currency. Catalogs are essential when integrating your in-game store with a platform’s payment system, such as the App Store or Steam.

You can create as many Catalogs as your game needs, whether a single catalog for your entire store or multiple catalogs for different categories. Each item listed within a catalog is referred to as a catalog listing. Listings can include single items or bundles, support custom metadata, and store the item’s price along with other relevant information for in-game transactions.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.lootlocker.com/commerce/catalogs.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
