Playtests

Playtests give you a hosted sign-up page for a closed beta, early access round, or any other test you need players to register for. Each Playtest gets its own page on a playtest.game subdomain where players create an account, acknowledge whatever documents you attach, and answer the questions you want answered before you decide who gets in.

Players register with a White Label Login account, which needs to be configured and enabled for your game, so everyone who signs up arrives as a real Player with an email address attached. What they tell you along the way is stored as Metadata on their profile, and the page itself carries your game's logo, fonts, and colors through Branding rather than LootLocker's.

Use Cases

  • Collect sign-ups for a closed beta or early access round
  • Have players acknowledge an NDA before they get access
  • Ask which platforms players intend to play on
  • Require a Steam or console account to be linked before granting a key
  • Build a mailing list of interested players ahead of launch
  • Gather background on applicants to help you choose who to let in

How-To

Playtests are built on White Label Login, which provides the accounts players register with, and on Surveys, which supply the questions asked during onboarding. Answers are stored as Metadata and can be filtered with Player Segments, while Branding controls how the onboarding page looks. Once you have picked who gets in, Reward Campaigns is how you distribute keys and rewards to them.
