View Survey Answers

This how-to finds what a player answered in a Survey.

Prerequisites

• A Player that has either started a session at least once, or been created manually in the Player Manager.
• A Survey with at least one answer submitted.

Open the Player's Metadata

Survey answers are stored as Metadata on the player's profile, so that is where you read them. Search for or select the player from the Player Manager in the Player Operations section of the Web Console, then open the Metadata tab.

Each answer appears under the Metadata key set on its question, in the type that question uses — a number question as a number, a checkbox as a boolean, a multi-select as a JSON array of the values that were picked.

Read Answers from a Playtest

For a Survey asked during Playtest sign-up, the Playtest's own Responses tab lists everyone who registered, with View Answers on each row. See View Playtest Responses.

That tab also records the onboarding itself in the player's Metadata, under a key naming the Playtest — ll.onboarding.[playtest-name]:

This is the record of what the player agreed to and when. The content_hash identifies the exact wording of the document they saw, so an acknowledgement stays tied to the version that was on screen at the time.

Use the Answers Elsewhere

Answers are ordinary Metadata once stored, so you can act on them rather than only read them:

• Filter players on them with Player Segments, including targeting a follow-up Survey.
• Pass them to an email platform through CRM Platforms to build campaigns around what players told you.

Players can also see their own answers, on the Answers tab of their profile in the Player Portal.

Conclusion

You can read any player's Survey answers from their Metadata, and the onboarding record alongside them shows which documents they acknowledged and when.
